Geotechnical Evaluations

We can provide Geotechnical Evaluations for all your commercial and residential building projects.  AGC offers practical engineering solutions based on an appropriate analysis of subsurface conditions. On problematic sites, the geotechnical staff’s participation during the early stages of a project can provide sizeable economic benefits. We contribute to project success by working closely with the client’s designers through all stages of a project. The potential impacts of the geotechnical conditions are clarified early in the project to avoid lost time. Coordination with the designers is emphasized so that geotechnical recommendations are incorporated into the final plans and implemented during construction.

Geological Hazard Assessments

We specialize in conducting geological hazard assessments (GHA) for building projects in areas that have steep slopes and or erosive soils. The geo-hazard assessments are required by most county planning departments prior to receiving a building permit for almost any new project within Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan, Grant, and Kittitas counties.  Our Engineering Geologist will conduct a site visit to investigate the potential geological conditions and provide a report that meets the appropriate county requirements.

Soil Infiltration Rates (Perc testing)

We assist home owners and commercial project developers in determining the soil infiltration rates for their septic system or storm water retention pond needs. The soil in the proposed area for either the septic or storm water retention system is rated per the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS) and if needed, an in-situ soil percolation test can be performed. We provide our findings to the design engineer with a report that includes the our test procedures, the soil type, infiltration rate, pictures and project map of the test sites.
